After a European tour with the USAF, Machias natives David and Julie Barker returned home to raise their children, surrounded by family and friends. In 2004, the Barkers purchased and began renovating the farmhouse that became The Inn at Schoppee Farm. Staying in contact with members of the Schoppee family they felt honored that the family approved of the renovations to the historic 1800's farmhouse.
After fifteen years of owning and operating the Inn, my aunt and uncle, David and Julie, decided to put the farm up for sale. After graduating high school in the spring of 2019, Ryle and I decided that we wanted to own/operate the Inn ourselves. We officially took over mid-July. Now, years later, Ryle and I manage two more properties here in Machias along with The Farm. We love this journey that we are on!
We have done our absolute best to highlight the historic farmhouse character in each room with functional antiques, unique Maine touches, along with modern comforts.
We always strive to make every guest feel welcome here with us and would love for our Inn to become your home away from home! Book your stay to rest, unplug, and enjoy.
