After a European tour with the USAF, Machias natives David and Julie Barker returned home to raise their children, surrounded by family and friends. In 2004, the Barkers purchased and began renovating the farmhouse that became The Inn at Schoppee Farm. Staying in contact with members of the Schoppee family they felt honored that the family approved of the renovations to the historic 1800's farmhouse.
After fifteen years of owning and operating the Inn, my aunt and uncle, David and Julie, decided to put the farm up for sale. In the summer of 2019, my boyfriend Ryle and I decided that we wanted to buy the Inn and run it ourselves. We officially took over mid-July.
We have done our absolute best to highlight the simple farmhouse character in each room with functional antiques and modern comforts. You will not find ruffles, potpourri, dried flower wreaths, doilies, or flowered bedding here.
We always strive to make every guest feel welcome here with us and would love for our Inn to become your home away from home. Book your stay to rest, unplug, and enjoy.
